BACKGROUND:

During the last ten years, Georgia made several important accomplishments in responding to the country’s drug problem. Specifically, in 2011, an interagency national drug coordinating body was established within the Ministry of Justice; in 2015, the multidisciplinary Addiction Studies MA Program was initiated within Ilia State University; and in 2019, the National Drug Observatory (NDO) was founded.

The Executive Secretariat of the Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (ES-CICAD) is seeking expressions of interest from experts in the field of alternatives to incarceration and social integration to be trained as Master Trainers for the delivery of the Case Care Management curriculum internationally. Upon successful completion of the Training of Trainers, these Master Trainers will be included on the Case Care Management roster of trainers and can be contacted to deliver the training when scheduled. FONDO

El Máster Multidisciplinar en Drogodependencias (TDM) de la Universidad de Barcelona, de dos años de duración, se creó en 1986, después de algunos años de ofrecer seminarios más cortos. Fue una respuesta a la crisis de la heroína de los años 80 y 90 y a los problemas de alcohol y tabaco de larga data en España. Para hacer frente a la situación se requerían profesionales especializados, y no existía un plan de estudios específico para drogodependencias. BACKGROUND

The course Prevention of Harmful Substance Use and Addiction Treatment is an integral and mandatory part of postgraduate medical education in the Czech Republic. Its aim is to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and competences (learning outcomes) for good medical practice, screening and brief intervention. The course includes an international curriculum for treatment and prevention in addictology and a comparison with competency models.
