The Addiction Professionals of Kenya had the opportunity and privilege of having a tete-a- tete meeting with the President-Elect of the Republic of Kenya, His Excellency Dr. William Samoei Ruto, before his inauguration on the 13th September 2022 as the new President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Defence Forces.

ISSUP Kenya Executive Committee had a planning meeting to organise the upcoming society elections in August 2022. The arrangements are on track for a successful inaugural election.

ISSUP Kenya completed the 3rd and final training on UPC course 5-8 ,for the National Youth Service(NYS). The training conducted at NYS field office Yatta (8-13 November,2021) was officially closed by the Deputy Director General James Mmata. Also present Evans Oloo President (ISSUP Kenya) Dr. Richard Gakunju (ISSUP Kenya), Dr. Matilda Mghoi (ISSUP Kenya) and Jeremiah Osiru (Head of training & Rehabilitation, NYS).

ISSUP Kenya was honored to participate at the policy makers workshop on Alternatives To Incarceration for Persons with Substance Use Disorders in contact with the Criminal Justice System. Mombasa,kenya-21-24 Sept,2021.The training was made possible through the collaboration of UNODC,NACADA Kenya and INL.
