2nd Euro Depression and Psychiatry Conference will provide the psychiatrist and scientists to present their latest research works in the areas of depression and anxiety. It aims to nourish the discussion among researchers and key investigators from multiple disciplines of psychiatry & neuroscience areas to place depression research in the larger context and ideally advance new discoveries.
In this presentation, Dr Carla Danielson will:
1) Provide a brief overview of the overlap between trauma (particularly child maltreatment) and substance use, theoretical models linking these, and the critical importance of integrated approaches to treatment for these problems;
2) Note the challenges that have impeded progress in integrated approaches;
In mental health care, incorporating into daily practice the vision of inclusion, empowerment and non-stigmatization towards people who are treated due to their mental health conditions enhances their recovery and development as citizens in their lives.
